Financial Markets Research Analyst is needed to support Consultants on Investment Banking mandates.Are you someone who enjoys the challenge of gathering vast collections of talents in the Tokyo market and filtering them through the research process until a suitable shortlist is found?Are you someone who is persuasive enough to get the information you want as far as is feasible in a short telephone conversation?To be successful to accomplish the missions, you must have:- Fluent in English, Japanese ability preferred- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail and you need to be able to present your findings in a clear, meaningful way- Patience, creativity, tenacity, persistence, because research analysts must be able to study and solve problem independently- Good team work spirit and cultural sensitivity to work well with people from different countries and personalities.- Strong multi-tasking ability and the ability to devise effective research strategy by utilizing a combination of tools, the internet, database as well as phone research.- Experience of the markets is not essential as we will train you. Together with PM, this position will be expected to develop various multi-asset, multi-strategies products and manage new portfolio working with other investment management team. Roles/Responsibilities
- Portfolio Management Activities; Support PM in managing balanced/multi-strategy products. Specifically, recommend investment decision to PM, sign-off rebalancing trades and provide guidance to Operation group, monitor allocation, monitor guideline of underlying manager and so on.
- Data and System Maintainace; Maintain spreadsheet in order to monitor performance of portfolio including portfolio data (holding data, transaction data and price data) as well as benchmark data.
- Product Development; work with PM in order to develop new products in area of multi-asset and multi-strategies in conjunction with global multi-strategies team and other vaorious global IM&R team.
- Reporting; Write commentary for monthly and quarterly and respond to business unit queries.
Required skill
- Proficiency in Excel, Factset, Barra and other performance attribution and risk management tools
- Portfolio management experience as a PM or PA for either Equity, FI or Alterenatives
- Understanding of financial markets and portfolio management theory
