Job Description

An international company who successfully market and promote luxury imported products throughout Asia.

A rare opportunity to join the HR department of a highly successful luxury brand. As HR Manager, Japan this role will play a key part in building the brand from an HR stand point.
 

Roles/Responsibilities
- Reporting directly to the President, Japan this role will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate processes are in place to smoothly manage the HR function.
- The role will support and advise the President, Japan with recruitment and resource planning, induction, attendance, retention, employee relations, managing HR systems, procedures and policies, training and development.
- Responsible for creating and keeping new processes and practices up to date in line with the company’s growth.
- Provide an internal consultancy service to the business and assist the President, Japan to influence managers to ensure that HR practices are embedded across the business.
- Provide expertise and guidance to management on all employee relations issues.
- Liaise with local Employment Lawyers where appropriate
- Manage the payroll process; liaising with and managing effective relationships with payroll agencies as required.
 

Required skill 
- HR experience within a multinational company, ideally from a luxury or retail environment.
- Prior experience in recruitment, employee relations and payroll, the appraisal process and pay reviews
- An understanding of Japanese labour law and best practice

Preferred skill 
- General affairs experience
- Legal education desirable
- Experience with new company set-up from an HR perspective.
